What are solar creations? Well we like to carve wood to the shape of animals and we like solar power – it seemed intuitive to combine the two. So now we carve bears, owls, and whatever meets our fancy, and install solar cells. At night when the sun goes down, the eyes of these wooden animals glow and provide some lighting. It’s an esthetic pleaser, and many people have been buying these guys up. If you would like us to carve a specific animal for you please inquire. As well, we will be posting some finished carvings for sale on this page.

The many steps of carving...

		This owl is made from dried ponderosa pine. It has been covered in three coats of poly urethane. At dusk when there is not enough sunlight, a control board begins producing light through two LEDs. This typical owl which stands 27 inches, runs about $200. Each carving is unique, but we can generally carve them to specific requests.

These lights typically last for 5 hours on a full charge.
